In this collection of short stories, Isobel Raven BA’63 (Phil & Psych), has caught the essence of significant events in the lives of ordinary people. The book comprises two sections: “Country Stories”, set in farming areas surrounding a fictional small town in Ontario during the period 1930—1960, and “City Stories” set in the Toronto of 1990—2000, a very different time and place. In a note thanking the author for her dedication of the book, Alice Munro said of A Flower for Allie, “I am delighted with the stories, which seem to me to have a unique tone and a special, keen vision.” A Flower for Allie can be ordered from i.raven@rogers.com or Isobel Raven 301-299 Mill Rd. Toronto ON M9C4V9 $20
